“An Enchanted Evening” Returns to the Heights for Second Annual Daddy-Daughter Dance

Following a sold-out inaugural event, the community celebration returns February 12, 2027, with an Alice in Wonderland-inspired evening, with all proceeds benefiting Girls on the Run Greater Houston

Houston, TX — September 9, 2026 — Following the success of its sold-out inaugural event, The Heights Daddy-Daughter Dance will return for its second annual celebration on Friday, February 12, 2027, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SPJST Lodge 88 in the Houston Heights. This year’s event, An Enchanted Evening, invites families to step into the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland for a memorable night of music, dancing, connection, and community.

The inaugural dance, held in February 2026, brought together families from across the Heights and surrounding communities and raised $6,000 for Girls on the Run Greater Houston. Building on that success, organizers are excited to continue a new local tradition that celebrates the special relationships between daughters and the important role models in their lives.

“Last year’s response exceeded our expectations, and it was incredible to see the Heights community come together to make the evening so special,” said event organizer Jimmy Donovan. “Our goal has always been to create an experience where dads and daughters can step away from the everyday, have fun together, and make memories that last. We’re excited to build on that foundation with another magical evening while continuing to support a cause that means so much to our community.”

Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, the 2027 dance will feature a whimsical atmosphere, music, dancing, light bites, and a variety of activities designed to create a memorable experience for guests. Themed attire and costumes are encouraged, inviting families to embrace the creativity and wonder of the evening.

While rooted in the tradition of a daddy-daughter dance, the event welcomes every girl to attend with a father, stepfather, grandfather, mother, family friend, or any special role model in her life.

A Community Celebration with a Meaningful Purpose

Girls on the Run Greater Houston will once again serve as the event’s financial beneficiary. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit delivers evidence-based programs for girls in 3rd through 8th grade, using physical activity, mentorship, and social-emotional learning to build confidence, resilience, and leadership.

All proceeds from the 2027 Heights Daddy-Daughter Dance will benefit Girls on the Run Greater Houston, supporting its programs, scholarships, volunteer training, and expansion into more local schools.

"We're so grateful to the Heights community for turning a night of celebration into real impact for our girls. Every dance ticket helps us reach more girls across Houston with the confidence and skills to lead. We can't wait to see this Alice in Wonderland-inspired evening bring even more families and possibility together in 2027," said Michelle Nasser, Executive Director of Girls on the Run Greater Houston.

“The success of our first dance showed what is possible when a community comes together around families and a shared purpose,” Donovan said. “We want the evening to remain, first and foremost, a joyful experience for daughters and their special guests. At the same time, our partnership with Girls on the Run gives that celebration an opportunity to make a meaningful difference beyond the dance floor.”

The 2026 event was made possible through the generosity of local businesses, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners. Organizers are once again inviting businesses, organizations, and individuals to support the 2027 celebration through sponsorships, cash donations, in-kind contributions, and other community partnerships. Opportunities for recognition include promotional materials, on-site visibility, and other community-facing benefits.
